About Carlos
Hey there, humans! My name is Carlos, but my friends call me Charlie, Charles, or Big Man. I'm a greyhound looking for my forever home, and let me tell you, I'm quite the catch!
First off, I'm not your typical greyhound. I'm a bit of a rebel. While most greyhounds love lounging on their fancy dog beds, I prefer to lay on the floor and sigh as if I've had a tough day. I'm also a bit of a diva - I get pretty peeved when my favorite spots (aka the couch) are taken.
But don't let my diva tendencies fool you - I'm actually a big softie at heart. When I think my humans are upset, I like to bring them shoes. I mean, who doesn't love shoes, am I right?
Now, let's talk toys. I don't actually play with them much, but I sure do love carrying them around. It's like my own personal fashion accessory. And don't even get me started on how much I love being spoken to like a baby and getting kisses. It's like heaven on earth.
One of the things that sets me apart from other greyhounds is my calm demeanor. I'm like a cool cucumber compared to those hyperactive pups. And speaking of other dogs, I'm pretty zen when it comes to interacting with them. While they're bouncing around like they've had too much coffee, I'm just hanging out, being cool.
My ideal home would be somewhere calm and quiet, with humans who are willing to take me on frequent walks. I don't mind being an only dog, but I do like to socialize with other pups from time to time. And let's be real, I wouldn't say no to a little company during the day.
Once I find my forever home, I hope they'll always remember me as the big, calm, shoe-loving greyhound who brought a little bit of sass and a lot of snuggles into their lives. And if they want to call me Carlos the Shoe Connoisseur, I'm totally cool with that.
Summary:
- Not cat friendly
- Not suitable for homes with children under 12
- Would like a backyard for zoomies!
Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
https://greytgreys.org/adoption-form/
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $350.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
