About Skip
This awesome dude is Skip, and he is looking for a new home due to no fault of his own. He is a true companion dog who will be your best mate and always be there to put a smile on your face. Skip is a really happy character. He is extremely social with all people and loves children. Skip is more than happy for strangers in the street to pat him as it means he gets to make new friends. At home, he is a smoochy and cuddly boy who will never say no to some snuggle time on the couch or on the bed with you. Skip also enjoys playtime in the yard as he loves his toys and running around to stretch his legs.
Skip’s sociability extends to other dogs as well. He has experience living with other dogs and socialising with other dogs out and about. He enjoys the company of having another doggie companion at home, even if they are not a playmate with him. Skip would love to visit more open off lead dog areas where he has plenty of room to have some fun. Inner city or busy suburban dog parks will not be his vibe – he’d prefer a life with more freedom and space to do his thing. He is an active dog who will need daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep him happy and healthy.
Typical of a working breed, Skip is intelligent and good to train. He knows a range of commands including sit, stay, drop (lie down), around (spin in a circle) and will toilet on command. Make your boundaries clear to him and he will listen. Skip has even spent time working sheep and has previously been the demonstration dog for sheep herding at a city farm. He can be a bit pulley on lead in excitement but is great off lead. Traffic lights beeping do cause Skip some anxiety, so we are looking for a quiet suburban or semi-rural/rural home where his daily walk generally won’t encounter this noise. Skip does travel well in the car so he will make a great companion to take on adventures and go out exploring nature alongside. He is fine to be left home alone when you go out, but he truly thrives on your companionship.
We are looking for a dog experienced home with people who have knowledge and experience with working breeds. Skip will need a home with another doggy companion and/or where someone is home more often than not. He will need to be allowed inside to be with the family and must have a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. Skip is suitable to live with dog savvy children of any age, livestock and cats (he grew up living with cats) so he will be a great fit in a lot of homes. Skip is a very loving and affectionate dog who will be a great addition to a family looking for a dog who already has training and whom they can instantly enjoy life with.
If you are interested in making this fantastic boy a part of your family, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of details about who and what pets are already in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer Skip.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
