About Pup Pup 🐕🐾♥️
Super energetic, super smart, fiercely independent, strong, stubborn, quick and cheeky. Loves his food, is funny, sweet, a quick learner, protective, loyal and adores all children. Is my co-driver in the car and loves adventures. Doesn’t like being told what to do and will chat back if you’re too stern. Wants what he wants, tell him no and he will plan for weeks to get what he was told not to take lol
Patience, kindness, with firm repetitive boundaries will win his heart. He will test you over and over, you’ll just take something from his mouth while teaching him “leave” and whilst you're putting it back he will be picking up the next thing and you’ll do it all over again. Then you can’t help but smile as he melts into your arms whilst cuddling you at night looking for the reassurance that he is adored.
Having had a rough start to life, Pup Pup now around 27weeks (&26.5 kilos), was rescued as a Ridgeback Cross at 13/14 weeks old. Surgeons have said he has about another 25% growth so estimating around 30-35kg but of course can’t be 100% sure.
Once here he needed a leg operation as he did a tibial crest Re-avulsion. Having to spend the next 8 -10 weeks in a pen while he recovered. He has come through like a champ! He's now enjoying his freedom outside the pen and it’s hard to hold him back while he eagerly enjoys all the wonders of the world. This little guy is full of beans. He needs a very special home where they have the time to introduce life to him slowly. He does everything at full speed. His leg is fully healed as the injury was a common one for pups that regrows into place. The removal of the 2 pins last week require a couple of weeks going slow again. He needs to remain on lead only until his muscles are built up as he wants to just take off at full speed. No rough play with other dogs while he gets there.
His home should have someone who has time. Time to help him build muscle strength. Time to adjust to being left alone. Time to introduce him to other animals and experiences. A place to teach him calm, not too many stimuli whilst he learns this, so whilst he lives with a cat, it’s too much excitement for him so a home without one is best.
Pup Pup has missed all the socialising a regular pup would get. His fear periods, meeting other dogs, humans etc He is currently slightly dog reactive, though this is related to fear and over-excitement rather than aggression. Once he understands what or who it is he is fine but needs training to keep moving forward in learning how to socialise. He currently lives with 2 female Rhodesian Ridgebacks and swims 3 times a week for non-weight-bearing muscle strengthening and fitness. Walks twice a day on the other days for an hour a time and still has energy to burn.
Like an overtired child, I place him into his crate to make him rest and have some down time.
Crate trained with a little whine resistance at first, raw fed and house trained
Everyone loves Pup Pup
He looks to you for guidance with his soulful expressive eyes and you melt but again I remind you he is determined and stubborn!
It’s time for him to have an amazing home and bond with his person and family.
