This is happy Safura! He is a friendly dog who is full of energy and loves going for walks, playing and running around outdoors.
This heeler cross is a very active dog and knows how to use his cute charms for MANY belly rubs and ALL the pats. See video for his cute nose nudges for extra pats.
He is house trained and knows to go to the toilet outside. Since he is a young, playful and an intelligent dog, he needs a home where he will get plenty of outdoor stimulation in the form of walks, games, and training to expend his energy and use his clever brain. He gets bored so a good daily exercise routine is a must for him and will benefit both him and his new family in keeping them fit.
He can’t be kept housebound for too long in the day since he is an outdoor dog and loves to play and very happily occupies his time if he has a few toys to play and chew, and a backyard to run around and stay active in.
Safura walks well on the leash, and is excited to meet everyone and get pats. He has young dog energy and excitement, which with proper treat-based training he will learn to restrain with time.
He is not tested with cats but is friendly to all the people he meets and curious about dogs he sees on the street during his walks. He is friendly when meeting new dogs and has nice manners. He will probably do well with an older, but young companion dog to play with each other.
He has to learn to be by himself and / or with a companion dog as he hasn’t had this opportunity in his young life, and so becomes attached to the people who care and love him. Some training is needed to teach him this and it will greatly benefit him and the family who adopt him as he may not respond too well to being kept indoors while people are away at work for the whole day.
He needs to learn about boundaries of when it is playtime and when he needs to be calm around the house when indoors. But being food –motivated it should be easy to train him out of his sometimes willful behavior and learning to be by himself and channel his energy to play and be active. He loves to run around the backyard.
