Our beautiful Karlos is looking for a loving & understanding new family. He has had a difficult life before coming to the RSPCA and now seeks a quiet, patient and kind home where he will be allowed time to decompress from all he has experienced.

Karlos likes nothing more than to cuddle up to his favourite people. He can be shy at first, but with slow, positive introductions to new people - plus a pocket full of Devon roll (!) you can win his heart over. He would happily spend all day being stroked & talked to. He is a very special soul who needs time to adjust to change & can sometimes feel overwhelmed. With gentle reassurance & allowing him to take things in his own time, it is possible to gain his trust & increase his confidence.

Karlos would prefer to be an only dog although he has had doggy walking buddies at the shelter & prefers the company of the ladies. He is not a guy who has shown any great interest in toys or games of fetch. He likes to meander through the trees, smell the flowers, check out his daily nose-feed & generally just take his time enjoying the environment - things that he was denied in his previous life where he lived in his own filth & had to fight other dogs just to eat.

Karlos is looking for a specific home: calm, quiet, patient, understanding & experience with dogs who have struggled with fear & anxiety would be preferable. No cats, chooks or small children. Secure fencing & a high quality diet are essential.
Karlos lives in a quieter area of the shelter & Meet & Greets with him will only be done by appointment.
