Are you looking for a tall, dark, and handsome man to share your life? Do you like long walks on the beach? Or long walks in the park? Or long walks... Full stop?! Well, do we have just the hound for you!
In between his walks (his most favourite time of the day), five year old Pat moonlights as a decorative throw-rug. Preferring to move around the house only to keep an eye on the comings and goings of his humans, this snoozy lad also has a “weighted blanket” function which he would be more than happy to demonstrate upon request. A home where he is invited onto beds or couches for a full body snuggle would be his dream.
Described best by his foster carers as a man of simple tastes, Pat lives for his twice daily walks, isn’t much fussed by other dogs, and loves to enjoy the quiet company of your socks in his bed; you don’t need to go to too much effort to hide these from him, he’s a collector, but not a destroyer, so you’ll always know where to find a pair!
While currently in foster care with another greyhound, Pat would also enjoy living solo, as long as his humans aren’t out of the home for long periods. He has been left alone for stretches of up to four hours, and after he’s finished his delicious Kong treat, he is content to nap the time away.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
