About Cookie - foster or adopt
Cookie is a wonderful rescue who is an affectionate companion. He is a human-focused cat and will follow you around like a puppy. He likes to know what his people are doing - whether it's cleaning, washing up, sitting around - and he especially loves mealtime! The vet estimated his age when he was rescued but he acts a lot younger - he has his playful moments and loves his squeaky mouse toy. He currently lives with other cats and kittens and gets on with all of them.
Cookie was found living as a street cat in Tempe and was fed by locals until he was rescued. Locals noticed that Cookie was looking for a home but other cats chased him away when he approached. After living a sad and hard life on the street, Cookie now prefers to be close to where his people are. Cookie likes to be an inside cat but he also goes out onto the deck of his current foster home to snooze in a sunny spot. He is not a wanderer and always sticks by the home.
Cookie had two major dentals and he is now a gummy boy - NO TEETH. But that hasn't put a dent in his appetite, and he eats both wet and dry food. He must have had some trauma with dogs on the street as he is terrified of dogs.
Cookie is looking for a foster or forever home. Cookie will bring lots of love and companionship to his forever home. If you're looking for a sweet-natured feline friend who will love spending time with you, Cookie is the perfect choice!
As with all of our cats and kittens, Cookie can try out your home for a period to make sure he fits in before being adopted. If it does not work out for any reason, Cookie can always be returned.

Medical notes
Cookie is FIV positive.
Cats with FIV are more susceptible to illness and infection, but can still live happy healthy lives if they don't wander or are kept indoors and given regular vet checks. Two of the biggest concerns with FIV cats are dental disease, and infecting other cats through bites – fortunately, neither of these are a problem for our gummy boyl! He has no teeth and he gets on with all the cats he lives with. So while he carries FIV the chances of him passing it on are practically non-existent.
