About Merida
Hi I’m Merida, unfortunately due to no fault of my own I found my way back into the care of Bell Vie.
I am very friendly with other dogs even though I have rarely been around them before. I am learning how to play with them as this is something new to me. I wouldn’t suit being with a dominant dog as I’m still learning dog social cues. While I have been an only dog in the past I am enjoying the company of other dogs now.
I previously lived with a cat and was curious, but showed nothing to be concerned about. I have had some interactions with Guinea Pigs and Chickens in my foster home. Although I’ve shown some interest in them, I am very obedient and would soon learn to live comfortably with them with no concerns.
I was an only only pet prior to coming into care and would still be ok as an only pet provided I had the opportunity for social interaction with other dogs.
I currently sleep outside, I have shown no interest in the kennel, instead I prefer a sling bed with a blanket that is in a sheltered area. It’s not believed that I have ever been an inside dog,but based on how easy I am to train my foster family don’t think there would be a problem.
I spend my days with the other dogs in my foster home. I would love to be inside with my humans but I’m quite content outside. I do like to be around my humans always wanting to be with you. I will sit and watch you through the door and only adventures out into the yard when you’re with me.
I am amazing with children, I was hesitant at first but have learnt that if they respect me I can be comfortable around them. I happily play with them and listen to commands they give me (sit, lie down, roll over).
I LOVE tennis balls and getting it thrown. I love food also so any treat is good for me. If I could just have a cuddle, a scratch on her back and the ball thrown I would be very content.
Apart from my adoration of people I love water. I will run around having a snap at the water out of the hose, blow bubbles in my water bucket and paw at it. I also loves to stand between taller peoples legs and get in for a super cuddle.
I am very easy to train (love of treats and wanting to please my family helps). I am very intelligent, I can sit, lay down and roll over (for a tummy rub). I wait for my food until I’m allowed to eat, wait at the door and doesn’t jump up. I have quickly picked up my routine and waits at the gate or goes to bed when told. If you say no I listen immediately.
I have hip dysplasia, I am on 4cyte every night with my meals. This doesn’t have an impact on me at all.
Medical notes
