About Cozi
Cozi. Cozzle Wozzle. Monsieur Cozi. Our distinguished gentleman is all
dressed up in his finest black tie attire, ready to meet his perfect new
family. Cozi is a charming 8-year-old who is already a pro at pet life,
having been in a loving home for nearly 3 years. Cozi is a stair-master,
walks beautifully on leash, and loves to share his affection with any human
he meets! Through no fault of his own, Cozi has found himself looking for a
new personal belly rub attendant, as his humans are moving overseas and
leaving the position vacant.
Like many greyhounds, Cozi has some social quirks and can get a little
over-excited when playing with high-energy dogs, so could benefit from
socialising with some calm canine buddies. He has perfected the art of the
spiky bush poo, planting his masterpieces on the tallest bushes possible
like a star on a Christmas tree. Puddles, however, are a no go zone, and our
precious boy would really prefer not to walk in the rain, thank you very
much. Cats and excitable dogs, he’s a firm no on too. Gumtree Greys will
equip you with a training plan to continue Cozi’s positive reinforcement
training.
Cozi may seem like a quiet, reserved boy at first, but once you get to know
him you’ll see that he’s simply bursting with personality, playfulness and
love. He enjoys cosying up for pats or getting a little silly over the
perfect tummy rub, and is very good at letting you know when he hasn’t had
enough attention by leaning closer or showing you his excited air snaps.
When you go out, you might find Cozi has rolled himself into a blanket
burrito in your bed, remade it to his liking, or even though you didn’t ask
– helpfully shredded your recycling. So humans who are home more often than
not would be ideal for our sweetheart. Cozi will make you smile when he
plays with you, and throws his teddy bear around in a spontaneous ten minute
burst of energy. Cozi is on the smaller side for a gentlehound, but has a
big personality and an even bigger heart.
If you’re looking for a seasoned couch potato, Cozi is the snoot for you.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
