About Briar
*In foster care in Campsie, Sydney*
Briar has gone from a wary stray to an affectionate, frisky lap cat in an extremely short time. With a sweet, playful temperament and excellent manners both with humans and felines, this handsome boy is a joy to have in the household. :)
He was very nervous and jumpy in his early days with us and can still be startled by sudden movements, but just needs a little patience for his confiding, affectionate nature to come out. He’ll be friends with anyone ready to play with him.
Like all Maggie's pets, Briar is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... would be a settled place with friendly humans, fellow cats (I’d love a kitten sibling!), a high place to snooze and a lot of toys.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: To begin with I wasn’t sure humans were trustworthy, but it was the worm toy that convinced me they were alright. I love to play with ALL the toys and I will poke your ankles (claws in, of course) when I want more. The humans get tired before I do! When I’m tired of romping, I’ll snooze somewhere high up or hidden during the day.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Young kids might be a bit overwhelming for me, but I’d do well with older children who'll be gentle and patient while I get to know them.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I get on very well with other cats. My elders are offered a polite nose touch if they seem friendly, then I give them space. If they win my trust, they may find themselves crash tackled when I want to play, but I never bother cats who aren’t friendly. I used to have a sibling I spent all my time with, so I’d love another kitten to play with. I have made friends with one of the older cats I live with - he plays with me and teaches me Important Cat Skills.
I haven’t met any dogs yet, but I think they're probably a bit too loud and scary for my tastes!

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
