About Alfie
Alfie, the greyhound here, and First of all, I'm the best boy, and I'm not just saying that because I'm biased my foster family tell me so everyday! My nickname is Alfredo, but you can call me the pasta-mastah. I'm the best boy around, but don't let my sleek greyhound figure fool you, I can chow down on pasta like nobody's business.
When it comes to snoozing, I'm a champion! You could say I'm the Usain Bolt of napping. I'm also a quiet and gentle boy, not like those other noisy breeds. Although, I do like to surf the kitchen counter for any tasty treats left unattended. You never know when there might be a meatball or two up for grabs!
When walking, I have no problem passing other dogs without getting distracted. But if we stop to interact, I might get a little over-excited and confused, so I might let out a growl or two before calming down. I love going on walks, but I prefer to take my time and sniff out all the good smells. I'm a bit of a "sniffari" enthusiast, you could say.
I may not be a retriever, but I love to play! I like a short 5-minute run before I tire out, but I don't like to run alone. That's why I prefer playing indoors and having my humans throw toys for me. When I'm in the mood to play, I'll let you know by barking and doing a little pouncing dance.
Now, I don't like to brag, but I have some unique greyhound traits that make me stand out from the pack. For example, I never lay fully on my bed. I always hang off the side, with my head or front end dangling off the edge. It's just more comfortable that way, you know? And sometimes, when my humans don’t let me have my way, I'll sulk for a while. Hey, even the best boy has his moments!
If you're looking for a low-maintenance, couch potato of a dog, then I'm your guy! I'm not called a greyhound for nothing, you know. But don't let my laid-back attitude fool you, I can still run circles around those other breeds. And if you adopt me, I'll be sure to repay you with endless love and lots of greyhound charm.
Summary:
- Ideal home is one with a backyard
- NOT small dog or cat friendly

We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $350.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
