About Silky
Silky is having a hard time adjusting to shelter life.
In her previous home Silky was an extremely lovable girl who doted on her humans and would do anything for love and affection, she was the perfect family member and very much a lap cat.
Her previous owners have spoken of her funny nature where she will play dead for treats and jump up the wall to play with her laser pointer toy. She likes to be held like a baby and carried around the home like this.
She did however struggle living with several other felines and never really warmed to their presence. For this reason, Silky was surrendered to Lort Smith.
Since her arrival she has been very withdrawn, shutdown and uncertain of her surroundings. We have given her lots of enrichment, gentle talks to help her warm to us and have tried reassuring her that we are only here to give her love and help her find her forever home.
We understand it is going to be quite difficult finding someone who can see past the hisses and see her for the wonderful girl we know she is deep down.
Silky has previously had some blood in her urine - (we believe due to stress of other animals in the home), so as a preventative, she is on a specialised prescription diet until she settles into her new home. Once settled in her new home she can be weaned off this specialised food and put on a regular adult food diet. For this reason, she will be foster with a view to adopt for a 4 week period.
If you are looking to open your heart and give this big girl the best life she deserves- please fill in an expression of interest form below and we can have a chat to about our Silky girl who we love very much.
