Medical Notes - Ellidy came into care with a dog attack wound that punctured into her abdomen causing a herniation. Ellidy had surgery to repair her hernia and to remove the parts of her bowel that were trapped in the hernia. Ellidy has healed well.
Sweet Ellidy is searching for her perfect forever family! Ellidy came into care as an emergency intake after she had been attacked by a dog. She was nursing her 7 kittens at the time, and despite her having a large painful wound, she still continued to make sure her babies were cared for. Ellidy needed surgery to repair the bite wound that had torn her abdominal wall. She needed to have some bowel removed from the wall of her abdomen, and the hernia repaired.
Ellidy has recovered perfectly and since weaning her kittens, has began to let lose again. She is enjoying her own time now by playing and seeking attention from her foster humans. She is very loving and would suit a home with older children who can cuddle and play with her. Ellidy is cat friendly and will need to go to a home with another friendly cat for company. Since she was attacked by a dog, Ellidy would be best in a home without any dogs, or with a smaller dog who she could very slowly learn to trust.
Ellidy is also needing a new foster home in the coming weeks. This would be a perfect opportunity for someone who was considering a "foster-to-adopt" situation. Please get in touch if you think you would be able to provide Ellidy with a loving forever or foster home. ❤️

Adoption details
If you would like to know more information about any of our rescue animals, our rescue group, or to arrange a meet and greet, please email us. Please provide us with your name, email address, contact number, and some information about yourself, and the home you have to offer one of our rescue animals.
About us:
Gary and the Handicats Rescue is run soley by a Vet Nurse who works shift work and also cares for sick and high needs rescue animals. We strive to get back to you within 24 hours, but during busy kitten seasons there may be a delay. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Please note we do not run on a "first in first served" basis. We screen applicants well before proceeding with adoption. Vet and rental references may be required for certain special needs adoptions.
We receive a large amount of interest in our handraised kittens, and certain special needs animals. Please understand that if you're application isn't successful, this may just be due to the amount of applications we have had for that particular animal, and not because of the home you have to offer. Preference is always given to our past adopters.
Meet and Greets:
• Meet and greets are held in an environment where the particular cat or kitten feels most comfortable.
• Please do not bring your own animals to a meet and greet.
• We do not allow any of our animals to be taken home on the day of the meet and greet. Special circumstances may be considered.
Picking up you're new family member:
• You MUST bring a safe, secure, and size appropriate carrier for your baby to travel home in. We do not have carriers to provide new adopters, and we will not send home one of our rescue animals in a cardboard box or a washing basket. If a carrier isn't able to be provided, your adoption will be cancelled.
