About Ginny
Meet Ginni! A 6 year old greyhound with a very gentle, loving and quiet disposition. Ginni is a very docile dog who loves a day inside with movies just as much as going to the park for a stroll.
Ginni is the perfect the dog if you’re limited with space, like all greyhounds, Ginni loves sleeping and she doesn’t require much space for playing etc as she has a very laidback personality. Ginni previously lived with dogs and has been well socialised and shows no signs of aggression as she’ll avoid any situations she doesn’t like. Ginni copes well with being home alone and has a very easy to please personality, as long as you feed you her and scratch her ears she’ll be the best girl ever. She’s also toilet trained and will let you know if she needs to go outside (hangs near the door) and if you live a busy lifestyle then Ginni would be a good fit for you as she only requires 20-40mins walk every day or two.
On leash, she is very well behaved, no pulling. However I have noticed she’ll be anxious in certain environments (dogs barking aggressively, loud cars etc.) and will freeze up. This may take some time and patience but I have noticed she has gotten a lot more comfortable with more exposure to the neighbourhood.
As mentioned previously, Ginni has previously lived with dogs and is generally relaxed and well behaved around dogs. But she is very people-centric so she’d be fine living with dogs or no other dogs. No cats though please! 🐈⬛ 🛑
Mentioned prior, Ginni can get anxious on walks or may not feel up for a walk, so she may often ‘freeze up’ and stop walking. This takes patience, but can sorted with treats and small baby steps to a new environment. And despite her athletic, lean build, she can struggle even on slightly hot days or longer walks, so she may be quite slow at times and may need more breaks than other dogs which also takes a bit of patience.
Ginni just needs the basics as any dog would. Food, some toys, a bed and water. She can get very playful and she loves doing 360’s. She’s always making us laugh when she does, she can really get the zoomies.
She may be quite nervous and timid of you at first but was a quick turnover once I showed her some affection and treats. Once she is comfortable in your home (may only take a day or so) she’ll fit right in and can be relaxed being left home alone so long as the weather isn’t too hot and has an open space with some sort of bed. As such, I have noticed she prefers being more inside than out.
Ginni is such an easy dog to have around and would be a great companion to anyone who wants to spoil her!
