About Charlie
Meet Charlie! He is a sweet-natured boy who is finding the shelter very stressful :( He has been well-socialised with other dogs prior to coming in and has lived with another older pup before, so he is recommended to go home with a calm older dog to guide him and keep him company! He knows a couple of commands already- sit, drop and shake and is food motivated (ideal for training). Charlie takes his time getting to know you, but once he feels comfy, he becomes very affectionate and playful. Rope toys are his favourite so far. He can be strong on lead, so his new family will need to be comfortable with his size and strength to help teach him better manners on lead. Charlie has never been left alone at home with his previous family, so he will need his owner/s to show him that it's okay to be left alone. A very secure yard is the most important thing for Charlie- your backyard must have at least 6ft fencing! Charlie has shown a high level of anxiety in the shelter, so his new owners will need to commit to a predictable routine and ongoing training to reduce his stress levels. He may be okay to go home with a calm, older children who are comfortable with his size!
If you have lots of love and time to dedicate to the beautiful Charlie, please enquire at RSPCA Peninsula or call on 5978 9001!
