Hi everyone … My name is Bekke and I am a SIMPLY STUNNING and yup sooooo adorable Blue Heeler x Kelpie with oooohhhhhh so much potential and fun and love

If you’re looking for a fun and chirpy pup, this extremely lovable pup may be for you. Bekke is an incredibly beautiful girl, with a big personality. This puppy has plenty of potential as long as she finds the right home.

Bekke is soooo smart and has learnt so much in such a short time she will be an outstanding girl if she is given the chance and correct training

Bekke is just on 10 kilos so based on her current weight and breed she will be a standard med at full growth.

Favorite things

Bekke has been fostered beside her brother. She has loved to show her strength and speed with him by initiating most of their playful bonding.

Bekke loves to chew and can be slightly destructive with infrequent garden digging and pulling apart her bed – but she is a puppy. We have been encouraging her to focus her attention on toys which she is starting to get the hang of. We recommend it is best to keep her entertained with chewable toys for her or teething stages Daily walks are essential! And as she matures she will need lots of stimulation and exercise to ensure she gets everything she needs to be content

Interaction with humans

Bekke is great with people although she is currently being trained to be less jumpy which has improved in the short time that we have had her. She doesn’t understand the difference between a grown up or child and so she will be excited either way for attention. She will need someone who can run around and play chasey. This triggers plenty of zoomies – very entertaining. When it is time for rest, she will show her soft side by curling up right beside you to nap.

Obedience / training

Currently Bekke can sit, drop and wait. Her recall is improving as she learns her name. Bekke wants to learn and thrives during this when there are no distractions. It is still very early days for nailing walks. She is wary of stranger’s dogs as she tends to only bark at dogs on the other side of the road or at the neighbor’s dog. As Bekke is so young, she has so much potential and we are super confident this tendency can change with smart training. Bekke is also learning how to sit before crossing the road.

When traveling, Bekke can get excited at first but after a few minutes, she is very settled.

As a highly intelligent double breed, this kelpie/heeler is an independent thinker. She is alert and capable of learning quickly. The best part is, Bekke wants to learn. She gives you all her attention during training sessions.

Animal social skills

Bekke has shown some over-excitement behaviors towards other dogs when on walks, (which is very typical for a young dog)but once she’s within sniffing distance it disappears. Off lead, Bekke interacts amazingly with our family dog. She sleeps beside them, runs around with him and loves stealing away all his attention. And obviously she loves her brother! Bekke would love to continue plenty of dog socialization as she grows up.

Food

Currently Bekke is eating premium dry puppy biscuits. She’s not a fussy eater and is like a little gentle kangaroo when receiving treats. She would benefit from treats in safe toys to keep her entertained.

Bathing and hygiene

Bekke is still figuring out bath time. We attempted the DIY wash and she was able to sit still although looked a little worried about the direct hose. We remained very gentle with her during the bathing process and didn’t have any problems. We also believe she will eventually love the water and enjoy swimming.

Sleeping

Bekke isn’t bothered at all where she sleeps. She has been quite comfortable sleeping on our outdoor couch or inside on the tiles on warmer days. As long as there is something comfortable, she will sleep anywhere.

Exercise

Bekke has high energy levels. Even after a walk, she often plays with her brother. As she is still young, she has been on two 20 min walks a day. These walks will need to get longer as she becomes older with the inclusion of interactive games for her mental stimulation.

Inside the home

Bekke is very suited to being either an inside or outside dog. Her favorite spot has been on our outdoor couch, which has very quickly become her bed, but she’s thoroughly enjoyed being indoors as well. Like any puppy, she’ll need a bit of indoor toilet training, but with her ability to quickly pick up new commands, it shouldn’t take too long. She hasn’t had any accidents inside as we ensure she gets plenty of toilet breaks

ADOPTION CRITERIA

If I could have my wish for my new home I would love the following

Children - I would love to have some children if possible who are gentle and kind and loving but mature enure to know I need lots of un interrupted nap time while of grow and who won't drop me so over 8 would be nice

We recommend children in the home to have prior dog / puppy exposure before your family applies for a young puppy s puppies teeth and have sharp little teeth

I would love a secure backyard that has grass for me to play in with shelter and shade and room for me to run so no little units or tiny terrace yards To avoid disappointment please dot apply if you have a backyard under 200 Square meters

I would love a BFF doggy friend if possible that is a MALE and of medium size and up who is kind and loving and would be ok with the usual puppy chewing and playful behavior. .HE must be desexed and well socialized with other dogs and definitely young and energetic enough to keep up with her energy levels

I would love a home that my new family are willing to train me and not just have me as a back yard ornament and who will treat me as a part of the family

A home with a family that have dog experience is essential as puppies are hard work and require lots of time and devotion to ensure they become the best dogs they can be
