About Moose
Mighty Moose is his name but Big softy is his game. Moose is a big goof ball who doesn’t know his own strength, he will need a person who not only has the strength for him but also has breed knowledge. Yes Moose is a sweet boy but if he doesn’t want to do something he uses all his weight to try and win the argument. Moose came into care with his mate Lakota, these boys were used to sleeping outside and honestly we don’t think had been inside before. Moose is a shy boy at first but once he warms to you be careful, he likes to use you as his chair (he believes he’s a lapdog secretly) He will need further training, while he will sit for food he doesn’t know much more. Moose has a love hate relationship with the lead, also another thing to work on. He can be fearful of the unknown and will jump up and try to bear hug you to get you to stop, while in care we have been working on his confidence which is slowly getting better. Moose has been good with other dogs in care, supervision is recommended as he doesn’t know his own strength. Older children or teenagers would be good also, while he has been okay around younger it isn’t recommended due to his size and lack in confidence. Moose needs to have firm boundaries otherwise he will walk all over you literally. He is happy to chill outside by himself and you hardly know he’s there most the time unless he barks to warn you somethings up. This fella LOVES water and we mean LOVES, honestly I’m sure he thinks he’s a duck and he will submerge himself just to have a drink. Then he will happily shake off and give you a shower in the process if you’re close enough. Ideally we are looking for someone to continue training with Moose, having another dog is a bonus but not totally necessary but most of all someone who will let him swim. If you have what this fella needs and deserves please fill in an application, the successful person will get the chance to meet this loveable goof ball.
