About Mika
Meet Mika, the sweetest rescue dog you'll ever come across! Despite the sad story that brought her to our sanctuary, Mika has a heart of gold and is now ready to find her forever home.
When Mika arrived at our sanctuary, she was greeted by a beautiful moon in the night sky, inspiring us to name her after the Japanese word for crescent moon - a symbol of hope and new beginnings. Mika's rescue story is a truly heroic one - we drove for hours to save her from a rural area where her life was due to end. Thanks to our dedicated team, we were able to bring her to safety and give her the second chance she deserves.
Around 5 years old, Mika has a gentle and sensitive soul who’s always eager to please her people. While she can be a bit timid and nervous about certain things, with the help of our volunteers, she's been making incredible progress and learning that the world can be a safe and loving place.
This sweet girl would do best in a home with people who are around most of the time, as she can become anxious when left alone. Her favourite thing in the world is to be spending time with her humans, and she'll happily greet anyone with a wagging tail and a big smile. She's not too interested in toys, but she adores a good head massage or ear rub. She has a calm and placid nature and loves nothing more than snuggling up with her humans for some quality bonding time.
Mika is incredibly smart and a quick learner. She’s already learnt a variety of commands like sit, wait, come, lie down, paw, shake, tap and heel. This gorgeous girl is fantastic on a leash and loves to sniff out new adventures on her walks.
Despite her past traumas, Mika has a heart full of love and is always eager to show her affection to anyone who’s kind to her. She's a true testament to the resilience and capacity for love that rescue dogs possess. If you're ready to give her the love and security she deserves, adopt Mika today and watch her shine like the beautiful crescent moon she's named after.
