About Archie
Archie did nothing wrong to end up at our pound. Archie was found as a stray and unfortunately for Archie, his family surrendered him to Socares due to family circumstances changing.
Archie had been a loving and loyal mate to someone for 5 years and now he is looking for someone to be loyal to him for the rest of his life.
Archie is a solid boy, slightly overweight (we are working on his waist line 🤣) who loves everyone (Well not birds, he doesn’t like birds 🤣).
Archie knows how to sit, shake, lie down, wait, roll over and spin in a circle. He is brilliant on the lead, walks at your pace and easily redirected.
There are a number of things that Archie previously enjoyed, such as playing with toys but he has shown little interest doing anymore while in a pound environment.
We would love to see Archie feeling so relaxed and happy again that he wants to do the things that he previously loved doing.
Sex: Male
Age: 5 Years Old
Breed: American Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Colour: Blue & White
Adoption Fee: $450
Location: Charmhaven Shelter
Other pets: Archie has previously lived with small breed dogs and a cat.
He is a lot of dog and doesn’t understand this when it comes to meeting other canine friends. Archie is a large lad and when he meets another dog he isn’t shy about wanting to say hello. Some doggy friends may not appreciate this type of enthusiastic behaviour.
Archie can be rehomed with another dog who doesn’t mind having a doggy sibling around who doesn’t understand personal space.
When Archie walked into our cattery he was completely unfazed by the cats, even though they were showing their dislike of him.
Type of household: Archie has previously lived with children under 2 years old and was wonderful with them and they had a mutual admiration for each other.
Archie needs to be with someone most of the time, as he doesn’t cope when he is left alone.
We do know that in his previous home he was allowed access inside and outside and also allowed to sleep on the couch at night. He was also toilet trained.
Archie’s ideal home would be with someone who is home more often than not, who likes to watch TV and would love to have Archie right next to them for company.
Archie’s adoption fee covers: microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea and worming treatments.
It’s very clear to us that Archie isn’t the dog he was in his previous home. He has become very stressed at the pound, and who could blame him. This new family will need to allow him time to decompress and show him lots of love.
If you would like to be considered to have the pleasure of owning such a beautiful boy, please lodge your interest online and we will be in touch.
