Hi, I’m Flake,
I’m looking a new home with a family who have owned and raised dogs before. I am young, playful and have so much love to give, if someone could give me the chance. My preferred home would be able to enrol me in training classes straight away to set us up with the skills and information we need to embark on this new journey together. I unfortunately have surpassed the critical socialisation period so need a little extra help to be the best companion possible.
I’m an active dog so will need a yard in which I can run around, play and lounge in. Fencing surrounding the yard should be high a secure as I am going to be a big boy! It would be great if we could go on regular walks together so I learn all about loose-leash training, and exposing me to the big wide world!
I’d be open to meeting older children, around 8 years or more. When I first meet people, I can bark out of excitement to greet them. Though this is a friendly behaviour, it is also not polite so would need to be rectified with training. I love affection and am very cuddly. Once I’ve learned boundaries and basic obedience I’d love to come inside and be with my family.
I’ve met other dogs at the facility and am not sure how I feel about them yet. I am a bit intimidated and would prefer to be the only dog at home until I am better socialised. I have shown interest in playing tug at the facility so I would love to learn to play more at home too!
If you can give a young guy like me home, press the purple button below.

Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
