About Elsie
Batten down the hatches: here comes Cyclone Elsie!
This is one young lady with as much Go-Go-Juice as a dog can have.... but make no mistake, she is very intelligent & highly trainable. With part of her ancestry being greyhound, she is all about the Whizz, the Bounce & lots of love!
She is wiggly, wriggly & full of fun. She has been friendly & sociable with other dogs at the shelter & so may well be able to co-habit with another canine companion. A meet & greet prior to adoption would be needed.
Elsie is very playful & loves a game of fetch. She is the kind of girl who would love to be included in family activities - hiking, camping, swimming - this girl is ready for adventures.
She would prefer someone who is at home to settle her in whilst she gets used to a new routine. Time alone should be built up slowly but with plenty of daily exercise as well as mental enrichment, she should settle into her new life very well.
Having been abandoned as a youngster, it is important that she is made to feel safe & secure - so lots of positive reinforcement training, calm reassurance & slow introductions to new people, dogs, places & experiences.
We are looking for a home with older kids (8+yrs) due to her bouncy & lively nature. Small kids can end up like bowling pins around an energetic young dog.
She is a very adventurous girl & we would strongly suggest that if she is to be spending time on her own that she be put in a safe enclosure such as a purpose built dog run where she can't get into trouble.
She loves pig's ears, frozen Kongs, tasty treats, squeaky toys, tennis balls & people!
She is still very young & has heaps to learn but she is ready to GO GO GO!
Elsie's adoption fee is $350. She is desexed, microchipped, health checked & up-to-date with vaccinations, flea & worm treatments.
