Nelly

Nelly was extremely shut down when she first arrived at our Charmhaven Shelter. She was so frozen with fear she would cower at the back of her enclosure when you approached her and staff had to physically carry her outside.

Over time Nelly has learnt to trust us and slowly has come out of her shell. She no longer cowers in her enclosure, she now rushes to greet us with her tail going a million miles an hour and super keen to receive pats and lots of attention.

Now that her confidence has been restored, Nelly loves meeting new people and she has transformed into a funny, happy girl who does zoomies from being so excited.

Type of house: Nelly may need extra time to settle into her new home environment. She knows basic commands and walks fairly well on lead however her new family will need to invest time with some further training. With Nelly's confidence sky-rocketing she has started to jump up on us when she gets over excited. For this reason only, we feel a home without young child at this stage would be advisable.

Nelly has a kind heart and would be a loyal loving companion for a family where she is not left alone for long periods of time as she takes great comfort in having her humans around her.

Other pets: Nelly prefers male canine buddies. With females she has shown to be dominant and not at ease. Males she instantly wants to be friends and play bows to initiate some fun.

Nelly was taken into our cattery and she did not like it at all. She was frightened of the felines that she met and didn't quite know what to think of them. We believe a home without cats would best suit Nelly.

Nelly's adoption fee covers: microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea and worming treatments.
