About Alaska
Meet Alaska! She is a sweet young pup who is completely deaf! She can be a little bit shy initially but with a gentle approach, she will quickly warm up to you. She responds very well to training when treats are on reward and she learnt to 'sit' in record time. She has learnt sit, drop and shake all with using hand gestures- such a smart girl. Alaska is keen to explore the world around her and is yet to have spent much time out in the wide world. Her new owners will need to be ready to take her for frequent walks, getting her used to the lead, and continuing her socialisation with other dogs and people. Since she is just a puppy, she will need basic training such as toilet training and obedience training for deaf dogs. Alaska has spent her life up until now living with her siblings, so she may be able to live with another canine-friendly companion. Alaska is still small but since she will grow much bigger, older children may be better suited to her, and she needs a large yard to burn off some of her puppy energy! If you are preparing to dedicate lots of time to Alaska's training as a puppy with an active and loving family, please enquire at RSPCA Peninsula or call on 5978 9001!
