About Mojo
Hi my name is Mojo
I’m a 10 year and 6 month old, Long haired Dachshund.
I came into care a few months and was told very politely but firmly by my foster mum and some rude dude who introduced himself to me as a vet that I needed to go on a diet! I mean how rude to tell someone who loves food like I do to cut back and be mindful of the amount of food I am offered.
Anyways I started on my get fit and healthy program – got to say not a fan of this diet thing and I have been known once or twice to laying in the middle of the kitchen acting like I’m starving and haven’t been fed in a year ……. I might be a little dramatic sometimes.
I currently weigh 13.8kgs
So while I think I am doing really well losing the weight the scales and the nasty vet guy said I’m not really losing much, so anyone who is willing to open their heart and home for me needs to be aware of my food intake and while exercise and diet will keep me active I am full figured and probably will be for life.
Obviously being a Dachshund we all know that we can come with back problems so my foster mum says there needs to be a few rules for me (1) No steps or stairs in my new home and (2) a home that ‘doesn’t fall for my Bambi eyes when I’m begging for food like I’m starving’ - according to my foster mum my new mum will need to be dedicated and strict in ensuring that the weight I have lost okay maintained whilst in care can be continued as I cannot put any more weight on.
Now onto the fun stuff (because I am really a fun happy go lucky kind of guy ………….. Let me tell you now I love my people, I am currently in care at a home with another small breed and she’s really bossy – so I just do what she says alllll the time. I do get on with other dogs no problems but also do like the attention on meeeeeeeeeeee.
I randomly roll onto my back in front of people to get belly rubs – yes I have been known to lay in the way so you either have to walk around me or give into my demands and rub my belly.
In my head I am a fun loving active outdoor type of guy but in truth I’m more than happy to follow you around – often just with my eyes from the couch cushion I’m lying on. I love a short walk, cuddle time, couch time, car time and anything that involves hanging out with my humans.
I would prefer a home with kids over the age of 8 simply as I like my quiet but comfy life.
I would love to live with someone who is home more often not or someone who can work from home and I can come in and out of your office doing my own thing when I want.
I am toilet trained.
Since I have been in care the rescue has also had my teeth all scale and polish and no extractions were required so yeah for me!
I do have a coat that does require some brushing and a good groom every few months to ensure that I stay looking my best.
I have not been around cats but my foster mum says that her gut feeling would be that I would chase them simply because I would know I’m not supposed too – can’t say I would run far or fast but!
My foster parent’s say I’m a joy to have around so now is the time to find my furever home.
So if you’re interested in opening your home to some love, some fun, a few dramatics and lots of laughter send thru an adoption application

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email.
