About Obie
Hi there, my name is Obie and I am an Irish Wolfhound mix, which means I still have some more growing to do!
I am a sweet gentle natured boy that will need lots of loving guidance through my initial transition into your family. To help me be my best self in a home environment, I will need you to provide me with daily exercise and enrichment. The staff here at the shelter give me multiple things and I LOVE them all! Long lasting treats, smears, jerky, ice blocks, kong wobblers and many more are just some of my favourite.
The staff have noticed that I have shown some rapid progress with training and would like to recommend that you continue to help me with this. This will help grow my confidence and help you understand how I communicate what my needs will be through my body language. And super duper important, it will help me know how to interact when I am much bigger dog.
I will require indoor and outdoor access, so I know we are okay and a family. Also so that I can go outside and sunbake, sniff the yard after my daily walk. Unfortunately, due to my size I wont be able to live in an apartment. I would be very suitable for a home where someone is at home most of the time.
I have had a few doggy meets and have shown I am quite the social butterfly. If you already have a dog at home, please bring them in for me to meet to ensure we will be the best of friends. I will need to go into a home with no children under 15 as I am a large boy that can be a bit excitable and would hate to knock someone over and scare them (and scare me).
If I sound like the ideal dog for you, please come and meet at the shelter!
-Must have ongoing training
