About Bobby & Peggy
Meet Bobby and Peggy! This gorgeous duo are looking for a forever home together. This is their heartwarming story ....
Bobby and Peggy landed up in care together by pure fluke ... little did we know there was a very good reason these two dogs ended up together.
Bobby is blind and Peggy is his eyes, his guide, his emotional support and his bestest friend in the world. They are meant to be together and we have got everything crossed that their perfect home will find them soon!
Bobby is a very handsome, lovely natured, gentle, friendly soul who loves affection and attention. Due to Bobby's blindness, he requires a secure home with limited stairs. He loves to run around in his carers a big open paddock and listens for his carers voice to come back when she calls. Routine would benefit Bobby so he can become familiar with his surroundings and enjoy being a dog. (Please read more about his medical condition below)
Peggy is a stunning 2 year old female Kelpie mix with oodles of energy to burn. Her foster mum says that although Peggy is Bobby's eyes, Bobby is her ears! Peggy is a gentle soul with a lovely temperament and absolutely loves to play with her bestie and other dogs of all shapes and sizes. She loves to chase so her new owner will need to harness this behaviour with fun, chasing activities!
Bobby and Peggy are looking for homes with LOTS of space away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Bobby is not suited to dog parks or off leash areas. Both dogs are great around kids and love being fussed over. They are both crate trained but would happily share a bed with you! They have both done extremely well with their basic training but like all dogs, will require continued training in their new home especially while they are settling in to their new routine.
If you think Bobby and Peggy are the perfect pair for you, please follow the link in the box below to complete an application form.
Medical notes
Bobby has had a full vet check - here are a few things his new family needs to be aware of for my future care.
The vet has examined his eyes and he has been diagnosed with Optic neuritis. This diagnoses means that he is blind. Don't be deterred, his lack of vision means his hearing and smell are excellent. He will occasionally bump into things but he copes well. The vet has confirmed he is not in any pain.
He has received a full dental while in care and had three teeth removed. The vet is happy with the condition of his remaining teeth but recommends they get checked at his yearly check ups.
