About Douglas
Douglas is a big, loveable, bouncy boy who is looking for a special home. Being Border Collie x Labrador, he is a bit over knee height, weighing in at 26kg and won't grow too much bigger than this.
Since arriving in foster care, Douglas has learnt sit and basic recall, and is super food-oriented so it is easy to teach him new commands. As with all dogs, ongoing training will be essential to help Douglas shine as the potential star he is. He loves to be involved in your day-to-day activities and appreciates the company of people. He has met other well behaved dogs whilst in foster care and was fine with them following slow introductions, but would prefer to be the only dog in his new home. He is NOT suited to dog parks.
Douglas can become anxious when faced with new situations, so a confident and experienced adult family will suit him best. He will need a person who will always be ready to advocate for him and will ensure that he is not put in situations where he is uncomfortable, particularly until a relationship of trust has been built. He would be best suited to a child-free home as he is still learning to be a polite furry friend!
Douglas will chase chooks and cats, so is not suited to living with them. He is happiest when he is with his human, so a home with someone who is retired or works from home would be ideal.
If you think you could offer Douglas the home he deserves, please send your application through!
