About Fraser
Fraser is a stunning Kelpie with looks to die for and a personality to match. He was a last minute save from a rural pound and is a lucky boy to be safely in foster care.
Fraser is a typical Kelpie with medium to high energy levels, but is starting to find his off switch for some down time and has really matured since arriving in foster care.
Fraser is great with other dogs and enjoys their company. He is very respectful when playing and understands when playtime is over. As with most Kelpies, Fraser is very intelligent and also has a lot of interest “working” the foster carer’s chickens. For this reason we do not think he will be suited to a home with free range chickens or pocket pets without significant training to reign in his drive to work. Fraser has started to walk well on a lead but his enthusiasm for everything means he sometimes forgets and pulls, especially if he meets another dog! But he is improving every day and has made excellent progress. He no longer jumps up on people, understanding he gets more love and attention if he keeps all four paws on the ground. His recall is close to perfect and he will sit when requested 100% of the time!
Fraser has matured a lot whilst in care and seems to be leaving his silly teenager behaviours behind. He has gained some weight and is doing really well on quality dry food. He also loves the mental stimulation of a kong wobbler and the occasional bone.
Fraser wants to be a family member. He loves a cuddle and adores training where he is praised and receives reward treats. Fraser will need a commitment to ongoing training to ensure he is the best boy possible, but this will also be a fun activity for him as he is so receptive and eager to please. Ideally Fraser would do well with an active family who will spend time with him and let him join in on family adventures. He can go to a home with or without another dog for company.
If you're looking for the perfect mate to enjoy life with, Fraser is your boy!
