Hi, I’m Alba.
My sister and I were brought into the facility together, and we are now on the search for our forever homes! I have not had much socialisation or training prior to coming in to the facility but since then I have learnt so much.
I’d be best going to a home who has experience with arctic breeds or raising and training young pups. I tend to jump up a lot and have some resistance to understanding the point of a “lead” but I’m improving every day. After my initial excitement of going for a walk, I tend to calm down and walk much better. My carers think I jump up for reassurance so I will require a gentle and patient handler who can work through this with me. I am a little bit aloof and lack focus so it can be hard to get my attention sometimes.
Due to my cheeky nature, it would be best if any children at home were at least 8 years old and have some understanding with puppy-like behaviour. I have met other dogs at the facility and show social behaviour, so bring your dog in to meet me to make sure we get along before going home! I’d love a home with a yard to run around and play in a paddling pool when it’s hot. The fencing should be secure and 6ft, as huskies are typically known for finding a way to escape a yard if they feel like it.
I am learning how to play with toys, so far my favourite ones are with squeakers or soft toys. My new owner should be open to the idea that I may need professional behaviour training either 1 on 1 or in a group class to assist with any training and behaviour needs. I am quite food motivated so training should be fun! My coat will need regular grooming at home and professional grooming every few months to ensure my undercoat comes out.
If you’d like a stunning, fluff ball as your new best friend, apply for me below!
