About Ruby
****************************PLEASE APPLY AT www.gsrv.com.au ****************************
Ruby is 11 months old and is the most snuggly, cuddly, affectionate girl. Ruby is a long stock coat Bi-colour German Shepherd.
Ruby is a clever girl who knows her basic commands, she walks reasonably well on lead and has been working on her recall in foster care. Ruby is crate trained and sees it as a safe space, she loves sleeping in it when she is feeling unsure. Ruby can still jump up at times when she is excitable and can be a little mouthy when playing, however she is a good girl who listens when told no and would suit most family dynamics so long as rules are enforced.
Ruby loves to play, she enjoys all toys and is the biggest water baby you will ever meet, if there is water around, you can bet she will try to swim or dig in it! Ruby is still just a baby and whilst she is generally well behaved, she will get into mischief when she is bored. Ruby needs to be given daily exercise and plenty of mental stimulation and enrichment. Ruby loves eating of Kongs, playing hide and seek with food and using snuffle balls.
Ruby has been in foster care with 2 male shepherds and gets along great with them, Ruby enjoys playing tug, chasing, and being chased and generally just loves to be in the company of other dogs, she has been known to snuggle up to them for a cuddle. Ruby would thrive living with a male dog in her new home, particularly one that is happy to play with her.
Ruby has shown to have a high prey drive and would not be suited to a home with cats or other small pets.
Ruby has been an inside dog in foster care and has taken to this like a fish to water, she is well behaved inside and will cuddle up on her bed or the couch… she loves having a morning snuggle with her humans in bed also. Ruby must be allowed inside and included as part of the family inside her new home.
Whilst Ruby is fine being left alone in the company of other dogs, she absolutely adores her people and would love someone home often, she is a German Shadow and will follow you everywhere ‘helping’ with whatever she can. Ruby is extremely affectionate and will climb into anyone’s lap for a cuddle and loves attention.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
