About Lucy
****************************PLEASE APPLY AT www.gsrv.com.au ****************************
Lucy is 11 months old, she is a Long Stock Coat, German Shepherd and was found as a stray. No-one has come forward to claim Lucy, she now finds herself in the pound, very stressed and confused about why she is there and where home is.
Lucy is not coping too well in the pound environment, being surrounded by all the barking from other dogs, being locked away in a pen all day without human contact and no enrichment or stimulation is causing Lucy to be a little stressed and erratic. Lucy needs to break out of the pound so that she can start her new life with a forever family.
Lucy is still just a pup, and still has some puppy behaviours that she needs help working on in her new home. Lucy will jump up relentlessly when she is excited or overwhelmed and needs to be given boundaries and consistent feedback so that she can learn what is appropriate behaviour. Until Lucy learns to keep all 4 paws on the ground, she is not suited to a home with children under the age of 10.
Lucy doesn’t seem to have a lot of experience with other dogs, she is not aggressive by any means, however her first instinct with another dog is to jump on them because she is so excited. Lucy doesn’t yet understand dog social cues and doesn’t listen when other dogs tell her off or to stop, this gets her into a bit of trouble with other dogs. For now, Lucy is best suited as the only dog in her new home, she needs to be exposed to other dogs in a controlled environment and shown how to remain calm and interact nicely. In future, once Lucy has developed the necessary social skills, she may be able to live with a male dog.
We are looking for a home for Lucy without cats or other small pets.
Lucy is very clever and learns things quickly, she knows her basic commands but needs to learn some manners and fine-tune her skills. Lucy is motivated by both food and toys and would do well attending group obedience training. Lucy is erratic on lead and pulls in every direction, she will need to work on her walking skills in her new home.
Lucy is a typical German Shepherd pup that is always looking for something fun to do, if she is bored, she may make her own fun and get up to mischief. Lucy is an active little pocket rocket, she will need plenty of exercise and enrichment in her new home, she must be kept mentally stimulated when left alone through treat toys, hide-and-seek games and puzzles. Lucy needs to have secure fencing in her new home.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
