Ready for Adoption!

Much to his foster Mum’s dismay, Mega the kelpie/whippet/stag blend is ready to fly the nest (using those ginormous kelpie ears!!). This amazing puppy is affectionate, playful, inquisitive, sweet and bold.

Also inherited from his kelpie mum, is Mega’s ability to learn quickly, listen well and his eagerness to please. He has been great when walking on a loose lead and checks in regularly for feedback.
He has also mastered the sit and drop command and has been crate trained so happily sleeps in his crate of an evening.
Mega is well on his way to being toilet trained. As long as his carer takes him for regular wee breaks he is very good at toileting outdoors.

Mega has been fostered with his little sister so leaving her will be an adjustment. They have also been living with other foster dogs, so a home with another playful dog over 1 year of age would be great for him. He has been fostered with cats but will chase and bother them, so while he is very capable of living with a cat the family will need to be committed to continue working with him on this.

Mega has been fostered in a family home with two young kids so feels very comfortable with the unpredictability that comes with small people. He’s a typical puppy and will jump, lick faces and steal food if given the chance but it’s a work in progress and each day is a new lesson learnt.

Given his bright and inquisitive nature, Mega will be best suited to a home that can keep his brain busy. A home who will continue his education, both formal and informal, and help shape him into a well mannered young dog. He will make a wonderful addition to an active family who will include him in their daily routine.
