Meet gorgeous pocket rocket Lexi. Lexi has had her DNA tested and has a number of different breeds kelpie/staffy/boxer cross. She is a small girl the size of an English staffy but with the energy of a kelpie which makes her an excellent addition to an active family. Lexi is currently in a home too small for her energy needs so we are looking for a new family with a bit of space and an active lifestyle.
Lexi loves to be on the go exploring the backyard or parks. She has excellent recall off lead and would make a great running partner. She loves water so a beach home or a river nearby where she can get her fix would be amazing.
Lexi is social with most other dogs but does like to be the center of attention so we are seeking a dog only home for her. She doesn’t like to share her food or toys with others. Lexi likes people but will take a bit of time till she feels comfortable around you but once she sees you as part of her pack she will be your best friend. Lexi is suited to a home with older dog savvy children only as she can show some resource guarding around food and toys.
Lexi is an active girl. Around the home she likes to keep busy in the backyard looking for lizards, chasing balls, playing frisbee fetch, climbing trees, water play, rock climbing. Her triple speed zoomies will have you in fits of laughter. Lexi will need daily exercise and would make a great little running partner as she has great stamina.
Lexi knows to sit, stay, drop and shake. Sometimes she tries to shake with two hands which resembles a Mexican wave lol. Lexi has done some formal obedience training. At home she does like to sit next to you on the couch and sleep on the bed if possible but also understands what bed means. She is a quick learner and eager to please. She is treat oriented. Gentle when taking treats Lexi can at times have accidents inside (wee) and would benefit from easy access to outside via a doggy door or open doorway.
Lexi is ok being left at home on her own. She may bark initially but does settle eventually. She’d do best in a home where someone works from home as she does enjoy company. She may take a while to settle into a new home with a new routine.
Lexi has a short coat and is currently being fed mince and high quality dry food. She does enjoy chewing treats, especially cow hooves. Lexi does travel well in the car but can get excited if she knows she is going to the park. She can at times have a very high pitched bark of excitement.
