About Shelly
Shelly is waiting at the shelter for a new family who will have heaps of love, patience & understanding as she settles into her new life.
She is a fun-loving, energetic, playful, affectionate girl who loves water & ball games. Big, bouncy & a ball of energy, she would suit a home with older kids of 12+ years as she has a tendency to jump up to show you how much she loves you!
She would probably be suited as the only dog in a home as she can be choosy with who she picks as her dog friends. She also needs time invested into socialising her through controlled, positive introductions to new canine companions.
She would prefer to not have to much alone time to start with as she settles in to a new routine but, given adequate exercise & some yummy long lasting treats or bones, she will chill out in her kennel which she keeps very clean. She is toilet trained & not destructive.
She can be strong on the lead but is learning some leash manners during her daily walks at the shelter. She needs regular exercise along with mental stimulation & she loves her frozen Kongs.
She has not had an easy time of it prior to coming into shelter as she was kept on a chain for most of her life. As a result of this, she has tracheal scarring which can cause her to cough when pressure is applied to her neck. She has received a health check from our vets who said that this may well continue through her life.
Shelly is waiting very patiently at the shelter for that special someone... could it be you?! Call us to arrange a meet & greet or apply online today.
Shelly's adoption price is $350. She is desexed, microchipped, health checked up-to-date with vaccinations, flea & worm treatments.
