Hokuro 💙

Hokuro, who is also affectionately known as Phantom (from the musical) is one of those rare cats that appear once in the blue moon, just in time to restore faith in humanity and remind us why we rescue cats. His name means “a beauty spot” in Japanese. He is a black and white cat but has quite a large patch of tan on his body from the colouring of his black coat having changed from sunlight in his previous life on the streets.

Hokuro absolutely loves the indoor life, showing his appreciation daily. He is an affectionate, trusting, and chilled gentleman who gives unconditional love and gratitude and wants nothing in return. Well, maybe just food. And pats. And cuddles. And perhaps more food. (It’s always good to be food-motivated!)

With his calm and generous personality, Hokuro wins over any cat he meets. He is a lover, not a fighter, not territorial, and genuinely happy just to be where he is. As a result, other cats see him as a big brother and seek comfort in his company. Hokuro is a natural caretaker, the kind of cat that asks for food, only to let others eat it instead.

Hokuro loves to accompany his humans everywhere. He is not a fan of loud noises and his ideal home is therefore a quiet and settled household. He loves a lap and a spot on his human's bed more than anything fancy like a cat tower or even a cat bed.
