About Tilly
Coming from a traumatic past where she was mistreated & malnourished, young Tilly is now looking for a calm, loving household where she will receive heaps of kindness & bucketloads of gentle reassurance.
Tilly is an absolute sweetheart who takes time to build up trust in people & so we are looking for a pretty specific home for this lovely lady. It needs to be a calm, quiet environment where she will be allowed time to settle in & time to build her confidence. Once she feels comfortable in someone's company, she loves nothing more than a really good snuggle & thinks that she is a lap dog! She soaks up kind words & gentle handling as she has never known these in her life up until now.
She has made several doggie friends at the shelter & really enjoys their company. She may well be able to co-habit with a suitable male companion. Having been denied food in the past, she may exhibit some resource guarding over food & dogs in a multi-dog household should always be given their own safe space to eat.
Adoption preference will be given to those who have had experience with fearful, shy or anxious dogs. They will understand that she needs slow, positive introductions to new experiences. The key is to give her choice in order to build up her confidence.
She is not used to & currently does not enjoy car rides & she also will need to go back to puppy basics 101 for toilet training. Ultimately we would like to her to be able to live indoors with her new family but this in itself would be a whole new experience for her & it will take time to settle her in. Routine, consistency, patience, love & helping her feel safe are all vital.
Secure fencing & a high quality diet are also essential.
It is Tilly's time to shine & if you think that you can meet these requirements then please speak to our staff at the shelter or submit an online application.
Tilly's adoption fee is $350 which includes her desexing, health check, microchip, vaccinations as well as up-to-date flea & worm treatments.
