About Lexy
Lexy the Pomeranian is 7 and a half years old, and an absolute bundle of joy - so much in fact her foster mum often refers to her as Lexy Joy!
She came to us after being rescued from a puppy farm/backyard breeder situation, and we all know that can have a severe effect on dogs, but Lexy is a happy little girl the majority of the time and loves life.
She has loads of energy and loves being out and about exploring the neighbourhood everyday. She loves the company of people so she wouldn’t cope with being left at home all day, she needs someone home a lot.
Lexy needs a doggy friend to hang with.
She’s ok with the resident cat in her foster home, and she’s also good with gentle kids.
Medical notes
7 year old Lexy is desexed, microchipped, up to date with vaccinations and annual heart worm injection (both due again in June 2023). She’s also up to date with flea, tick and intestinal worm monthly prevention.
Lexy came to us with a lot of missing teeth, and has since had a dental and lost a few more, but it doesn’t effect her eating,
She has also had surgery to repair both patellas in October 2022 and has since had the pin removed from the left knee as it was causing irritation. She has healed well and can move about freely. Due to this type of surgery, there is an increased risk of arthritis developing so we recommend speaking to your vet about joint support - there are injections and supplements that can help with this.
Lexy can become anxious when in new situations so she has Trazadone when she’s exposed to stressful events such as vet visits. She doesn’t need to be on it all the time, just as needed.
