ABOUT
Meet Oliver (or Ollie as he’s affectionately known). Although shy and reserved at first, Ollie is gentle cat who is looking for a loving forever home where he can feel safe and loved.
Oliver will likely prefer to suss you and the household out from a safe hidey hole for the first few weeks until he feels safe enough to come out and slowly explore at his own pace.
He would do best in a home with a patient owner who is willing to take the time to get to know him and earn his trust. He would also do well in a home with another friendly cat as he adores feline company and will chirp away when he’s getting to know his new kitty family. Although it will take some time for Ollie to warm up to you, once he gets to know you and you’ve won his heart and trust, he will show you all of his affection, rubbing around you and hanging out wherever you are. He’ll jump up on the bed at night for a snuggle in short bursts or tuck himself behind you on the couch. As time goes by he'll only become more comfortable and affectionate.
With gorgeous markings and a truly spectacular tail that he likes to carry proudly, he really is a handsome lad. Equally gorgeous on the inside, even from his most scaredy-cat beginnings, Ollie has never once lashed out with his claws or teeth and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.
He’s lived with teens and older kids and he’s fine with them if they’re calm and patient and are prepared to interact with him on his terms. He’s also fine with our small quiet dog and is getting more comfortable with our large bouncy Labrador puppy/tween. Once he’s comfortable with you he prefers one handed pats as if he sees a second hand he thinks you’re going to pick him up (which he doesn’t enjoy).
Please keep in mind that Oliver is shy and will require patience, love, and understanding for his true nature to shine. If you're looking for a companion that will be loving and loyal once he gets to know you, then Oliver is the cat for you!
