About Scamp
This fellow might be small in stature but he has an intrepid and confident nature. He loves to have a good time, exploring, playing with his toys or starting a game with other dogs. Having said that, he is also a sensible guy who keeps his eye on his human when out on walks with the doggy crew, and can be trusted not to wander too far away. He is great off-lead, has good recall and learns quickly. He loves to do the right thing and be rewarded with a pat. While embracing life’s adventures, he still likes to know that someone is there for him. Scamp is trustworthy with people and other dogs and is affectionate and endearing. When he is tired he loves to curl up on a lap or in the nearest dog bed and of course loves a snuggle on the bed at night.
Scamp was born in a remote Indigenous community in the NT and has been in our care for six weeks. He is now nearly 5 months old and weighs in at about 8 kilos, so we expect him to be around the 10 - 15 kg mark fully grown. Although he has the colouring of a heeler, he does not have either the build or temperament of a heeler and is in many respects the typical camp dog puppy - intelligent, lively and people orientated. We can see Scamp making a great addition to a family with an active, outdoorsy lifestyle. He would also suit an active older person. Another playful friendly dog in the picture would be a bonus.
Scamp is currently in foster care in the Adelaide Hills and looking forward to interviewing prospective adopters.
Medical notes
In addition to the usual parasite management (deworming, tick and flea prevention and heartworm prevention), Scamp will be tested for the full panel of tick-bourne diseases endemic in the Northern Territory. If treatment is needed, it will be provided.
