Joop

Introducing the sweet clam chilled and simply stunning baby boy… Joop
Joop’s favorite things are playing tug of war with his foster siblings, laying on the grass, and exploring with his sister. He is quiet, but he doesn’t shy away from a bit of fun or play.
Joop came into the rescue with his mummy and siblings on xmas eve after being left in a rural pond.
Mummy “Narlla” is a Whippet x Staghound and we were told daddy is a Whippet also
Narlla ( Mummy) has the most amazing temprepent and is a kind loving gentle and sweet girl so if Joop is anything like mummy when he grows up a lucky family will have an amazing temperament family member
Joop at a weight of just 6 kilos will mature at a med size boy we feel

Interaction with humans – Joop is very calm in the presence of people. He is friendly, but won’t always be the first dog to come towards you. He sometimes might prefer to sit back and watch rather than come to you to play, but has no problems being pet or held, and really enjoys a cuddle/watching TV on your lap. He will happily be held but will often wait for you to approach him first.
Obedience / Training As Joop is still a puppy he hasn’t had much training, but is very well mannered. He has not received all of his vaccinations so has not been walking on a lead. He was a little nervous when traveling in the car.
Animal Social Skills – Joop was in foster care with a litter mate and a foster brother. He loves to play and interact with his foster siblings, and will even sometimes incite tumble play. He is submissive around older male dogs. He loves playing tug of war, and can get very excited when he discovers a new toy to play with. He hasn’t shown much interest in birds or the resident guinea pigs in his foster home. He can be a bit timid, and if he is not in the mood to play he won’t react at all to his foster siblings when they attempt to get him to play.
Independence – Joop is very happy in his own company or in the company of others. He enjoys naps and laying on the grass with a toy. He doesn’t shy away from exploring the garden without the company of others, but if he sees one of his foster siblings do something exciting, he loves to join in. He prefers being outside where he has space to run around or rest in the shade rather than being inside. He has no problems being left at home with toys outside, and is comfortable being in the company of his foster siblings.

Sleeping – Joop is very comfortable sleeping outside in a cozy kennel with blankets. He tends to whine if he is inside in a crate. He settles for the night very quickly outside, and likes to cuddle into a teddy or cozy blanket. During his first few nights in foster care he cried for a little but didn’t take long to settle down to sleep. Being such a young pup, he will also nap many times throughout the day.
Exercise – As he is a puppy and hasn’t received all his vaccinations, he hasn’t been on any lead walks, but he plays outside for most of the day, and will generally take breaks by napping before going back to playing again. He is very well behaved inside the house but can get distracted so needs to be watched. In foster care, he hasn’t had any recent inside accidents but will sometimes go to the toilet on the concrete outside instead of the grass. Joop hasn’t tried to jump on any furniture, and is very well behaved when on the couch.
IDEAL HOME
If I could have my wish for my new home I would love the following
Children - I would love to have some children if possible who are gentle and kind and loving but mature enure to know I need lots of un interrupted nap time while of grow and who won't drop me so over 5 would be nice
We recommend children in the home to have prior dog / puppy exposure before your family applies for a young puppy s puppies teeth and have sharp little teeth
I would love a secure backyard that has grass for me to play in with shelter and shade and room for me to run so no little units or tiny terrace yards
I would be fine with cats as I'm young enough to learn
I would love a BFF doggy friend if possible that is a FEMALE and of medium size and up who is kind and loving and would be ok with the usual puppy chewing and playful behavior. .She must be desexed and well socialized with other dogs
I would love a home that my new family are willing to train me and not just have me as a back yard ornament and who will treat me as a part of the family
A home with a family that have dog experience is essential as puppies are hard work and require lots of time and devotion to ensure they become the best dogs they can be
