About Rusty - 5 Year Old Pomeranian X (On Trial)
Rusty the 5 year old possible Pomeranian X is looking for his forever home.
Rusty came into care after being found wandering, so his age history and breeding is rather unknown.
He has been given the name Rusty by the ranger for obvious reasons, however he’s not particularly attached to it. He is rather enjoying being called “Mummy’s Foxy Boy”.
This sweet, gently, prancing boy is very cautious and timid in most circumstances and is coming out of his shell more and more every day. He has found he loves the doggy door and the freedom that it gives him to rest outside in the quiet or to sneak in and join his foster mum on the couch for a bit of a snuggle and scratch. His forever home would ideally have a doggy door that would allow him this luxury. And just for bonus points – he is completely housetrained!
He is currently comfortably living with 3 other dogs in care (male and female) and while he often keeps to himself is starting to show interest in their games and rough play. Perhaps in time he would enjoy the company of another dog.
He has shown no signs of trying to escape his foster home, however he is able to jump quite high so will require 6ft fencing. He is not experienced at walking on a lead and can become overwhelmed with it. His forever home will have patient parents who understand that he is suited to very short daily walks.
He currently sleeps inside in a crate at night without incident or complaint, eats any food offered to him and does not bark without provocation. He is not tested with cats or pocket pets and weighs in at 7kg.
Rusty’s new ideal forever home will:
• Be quiet and calm with patient parents who understand he may never really be comfortable in social settings. They will understand that he will take a little bit of time to warm to them but that his unique head down, bum up kind of hug is absolutely the best kind.
• Have a doggy door.
• Where he will be an only dog or a have a senior quiet dog companion. A dog that gets over excited or in his face will not be a match.
• Be looking for an independent doggo who likes to come and go as he pleases.
For more information on Rusty the Foxy Boy, please contact his foster carer Kylie on her email adoptginger@outlook.com. Rusty is in foster care in Fletcher, NSW and is not available for adoption interstate. Rusty’s adoption fee is $600 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
