Winston

Please meet WINSTON, a sweet-tempered, playful, friendly and slightly goofy Wolfhound/Ridgeback/Border Collie mix born on 3 July 2022. As at 27 July 2023, he weighed 36.6 kgs so is a big, strong hunk o' love.

Winston loves human company and has never met a person he doesn't like. He is great with kids. He loves them and they love him, although he's probably too big to be a suitable playmate for the littlies.

He has an affectionate temperament and is very clever and eager to learn. Although exuberant when at play - and very strong - he's quite calm for a big young dog.

He's always been an inside-outside dog and is house-trained. He knows his basic commands. When you pick up the lead, he sits to have the lead put on. He travels superbly in the car. You don't even know he's there, even on long trips.

He is very dog-friendly and inclined to be submissive with his own kind. He's successfully lived with other dogs, a cat and horses.

Winston would make a delightful companion for an active individual or family. His ideal home will have someone around most of the time and/or a compatible canine mate or two to play with. He is definitely not suited to a solitary life in the backyard and will do best if treated as an integral part of an active and loving family. Prior experience with Wolfies, Ridgies or other large breeds will be highly regarded.

He will bark (from his boots) when someone comes to the front fence or knocks on the door and when he's playing ball in the backyard with his human family. Otherwise he's a quiet dog.

As always, secure fencing is essential.

Winston's adoption fee is $550 and he is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
