About 🥙Babaganoush🥙
Babaganoush is one of the sweetest boys to ever enter our care.
Babaganoush the British Longhair will turn five next month and we would love him to spend his birthday in his forever home being spoiled, like he deserves!
When he first arrived with us he was unsure and confused as any cat would be after having to leave your home after four years. Luckily some love, care, patience and snacks was all it took to show him that life was pretty damn good in foster care. This means that his new home will need to be patient and understanding to give him the time he needs to settle in. While he isn’t very keen on being picked up he absolutely loves being patted which causes him to purr really loud and headbutt your hand to ensure you keep giving him all the love he wants.
When it is quiet he loves to explore the house, chatting away so he knows where you are. He especially loves the scratcher because it means he can climb up nice and high to look around. He is a very good boy and actually knows what the scratcher is for and will happily use it!
Big Baba G absolutely loves tubey treats, they are the way straight to his heart. Plus you get to see his big tongue pop out over and over again and then his big, wide eyes beg you for another. He has been a perfect gentleman to the other cats in his foster home, making sure to give them space if they don’t want him nearby and happily getting in on playtime with them where he can.
Babaganoush would love a home with another friendly cat or two with slow introductions so everyone can be comfortable. He’s never met a dog so we would prefer to find him a home without any but may consider homes with one, small, proven cat-friendly dog.
This gentle, loving boy is looking for a quieter all adult home or one with children aged ten and above as he needs time to settle into new surroundings and humans who can respect his boundaries. He must have a home committed to ongoing grooming (he will need a clip 3 to 4 times a year) as his coat is simply too long to expect him to continue the upkeep even with daily human intervention. He has been an indoor cat all his life and will need to continue this to keep him safe from outside dangers.
Babaganoush is in care in Narre Warren South and is not available for interstate adoption.
Please note that only enquiries that are accompanied by a completed adoption questionnaire will receive a reply. https://www.squishiesrescue.org.au/adopt-cat
