About Gracie
This adorable little lady has just raised her last litter of puppies, and is now really enjoying life free of family responsibilities. She is a kind and gentle soul, but has a dignified presence and commands respect from the other dogs in the crew. While her own pups have grown up and moved on to their own homes, she still helps out with the current litter in care, often snuggling up with them for a sleep. Out and about on bush walks she is athletic, loves exploring, and is trustworthy with dogs and people we encounter. She also has excellent recall, keeps her eye on her human, and doesn't ever run off. At home she is well liked by the other dogs and plays with them all. She loves to curl up for a sleep, and particularly enjoys an afternoon nap in the bed cuddled up to her human.
Gracie was born in a remote community in the Western Dessert region of Central Australia. She was surrendered into care with her young puppies by her family, an older couple who had no tucker for them and wanted them to be raised up healthy and strong and find new homes.
While strongly built, Gracie is of short stature, and is on the smaller side of medium, weighing in at 14 kg. Gracie would make a great family dog, but we can also see her with an active older person looking for a best mate.
Gracie is currently in foster care on Community. She will be ready to travel in mid-February. She will travel by road from Community to Alice Springs, then via direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Her transport costs are included in her adoption fee.
Medical notes
In addition to the usual parasite management (deworming, and tick flea and heartworm prevention), Gracie has tested negative for the full panel of tick-bourne diseases endemic in the Northern Territory.
