Easily loveable and oh so loyal Peeko is now seeking his forever home.

This gorgeous and loving boy is a Labrador x Border Collie with the sweet and loving personality and quirky playfulness of a Border

Peeko has a snuggly gentle nature with elements of puppy. He weighs in at 26 kilos and is a medium build.

Peeko loves attention and positive reinforcement when he has been a good boy. He does the best zoomies, enjoys playing fetch with a ball or frisbee,to burn off energy.

He is a very handsome pup with a gentle temperament and a lovely glossy soft coat. His affectionate personality and willingness to please makes him a truly wonderful companion.

CAR

Peeko is an excellent traveler and happily jumps into the back of the car. He will quietly lie down or sit to check out the scenery while driving to his next adventure.When the windows are down and the music is playing, he is in heaven.

FOOD

Peeko is food and treat motivated, he eats a dry kibble dinner with an egg and given the chance, will attempt to eat his foster sisters too. He will sit and shake his paw when receiving treats and before dinner. Peeko thoroughly enjoys tackling a meaty lamb neck under his favorite tree in the garden. It is worth noting that he is very protective of his bones.

OUTSIDE

Peeko absolutely loves being the center of attention, happily greeting people and with his very cute waggy tail and enthusiastic temperament. He is confident when meeting new people.

ENRICHMENT

Peeko loves walks on the lead and exploring new routes where he can sniff and be stimulated by new smells.He is an active dog who enjoys being given new situations to navigate and learn from followed by lots of positive reinforcement. As he is a super chewer, we would suggest long lasting kong toys.

INDEPENDENCE

Peeko is confident and well adjusted. He doesn’t complain when humans are out, he will play in the backyard, nap in the sun. When left at home alone Peeko will need toys and treats to keep him entertained.

SOCIABILITY

Peeko is well socialized with his foster sister. He loves a bit of teeth play, wrestling, being chased, teasing/playing with his foster sister and will be vocal when all of this is happening. He has not been exposed to cats/birds while in foster care.

As Peeko is super friendly, confident and loving he will be the best companion for his new human/s. Even though Peeko has a foster sister (who is much larger than him ) and he has also resided with another female dog he has exhibited reactive behavior towards all male dogs. When on walks and he sees a dog he will give a little pull and growl to get to the dog, but once you say his name his attention is easily diverted and he will continue his walk. Although we have tried working on this he will need continued training. Peeko is highly adaptable and will be happy living somewhere where he is the Only dog so that he receives cuddles, pats and lots of amazing new experiences. We have also recognised that Peeko is very protective of his foster sister dog with other dogs so we feel that only a dog home is best suited for his development and social skills.

WALKS

Peeko will benefit from continued lead training. Once trust has been established, he will walk next to you and look to you for his next command, ie changing direction, treat or run He is not fazed by loud noises or road noises. When he is faced with another dog, we cross the road so that he is not tempted to react. He has been known to get pretty excited when meeting new people and has a tendency to jump.

OBEDIENCE

Peeko follows commands - sit, shake (paw), come, lie down (on your bed), get/bring your ball. He is a keen learner as he is eager to please and receive praise.

He responds well to training, benefits from ongoing training and trust building. He is incredibly loyal and will look to you for his next move.

INSIDE

Peeko will quickly work out where his bed is and the next most comfortable spot, ie the couch, preferably right next to a human. He is super snuggly and loves to be patted. He believes everyone loves him and will position himself to maximize receiving attention while looking lovingly at you with his gorgeous brown eyes. He loves to keep an eye on what is happening in the street and will alert you to visitors.

SLEEP

Peeko sleeps inside and will either curl up on his bed or the couch (especially if he can share it with his human). He loves the warmth of the sun and also enjoys naps on the deck/lawn.

He is a great sleeper and makes it through the night without a peep.

TOILET

Peeko is completely house trained and knows how to do his business on the grass in the garden.

A home with a good size yard with secure fencing, plenty of shade, access to water (he loves a fountain) and shelter from the elements
