About Max - 15 Year Old Miniature Poodle X (On Trial)
At the ripe old age of 15, little Max is looking for a relaxed, loving household in which to spend his retirement.
Being 15, Max spends a lot of his time resting, either on his bed, at your feet or on the lounge beside you. Despite his age, Max is quite active and enjoys a short daily walk. Sometimes, if he’s excited, he even does ‘zoomies’ in the house or in the yard (if only briefly). Max loves to roll around in the grass in the sun. He will happily follow you everywhere while you potter about the home or garden. Max is very sweet and gentle, and when you come home he greets you warmly with a little wag of his tail.
Max is good with other calm dogs. He is currently living with a 20kg border collie and they coexist peacefully. He hasn’t been tested with cats or pocket pets so a slow introduction would be required. He could be an only dog provided he gets lots of attention and love from his people.
Max is very low-maintenance - he is housetrained, he doesn’t shed, and he is able to be left alone while you go to work or run errands. Although Max is mostly deaf, he is otherwise in good health and doesn’t take any medications. Max needs a home that has secure fencing with no small gaps.
Max’s dream home would be a retired single person or couple who spends a lot of their time at home, showering him with the love he deserves. In return, he provides close cuddles and lots of kisses.
To register your interest in adopting Max you can fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
PLEASE NOTE: When applying for our dogs and puppies, please ensure to list the name of the dog you wish to adopt. Please do NOT just list the reference number or the microchip number as this will delay your application reaching the correct foster carer.
You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au or www.petrescue.com.au
Max is in foster care in the Lake Macquarie, NSW area. They are not currently available for interstate adoption. The adoption fee is $100.00 and they are desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
PLEASE NOTE: Dog Rescue Newcastle provides individual listings with specific requirements for each foster dog. If you submit an application or inquiry and DO NOT receive a response within 5 business days, please understand that you have not met the specific requirements for this dog. Please do not be disheartened or discouraged, this simply means you were not a suitable match at this time.
This organisation's adoption policy is moderate. What does this mean?
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire: https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
(2) If the questionnaire is approved we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) After that we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home, nearby park or your home.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
