About Bonnie
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
**Before applying, please remember that adopting a puppy into your home is a huge commitment, and very demanding of your time. Puppies require daily exercise, positive and varied socialisation, grooming, training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Puppies will need someone who is home for most of the day with regular focused input, especially in those first six months after adoption **
NAME: Bonnie
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to SAFE Esperance as an owner surrender with her brother Clyde.
BREED: Labrador x Rottweiler mix
Breed traits: Labrador - bred as a companion and working (gun) dog Labradors are known as affectionate and loyal companions. Their good nature means they are friendly to family, children, other dogs and strangers and don't like being left for long periods. They are intelligent and easy to train - they love to please - they can be mouthy but have a low prey drive towards other species. They require a good amount of exercise and brain stimulation. If not exercised sufficiently and food monitored they can become obese and they are definitely not watch dogs.
Rottweiler - originally used to herd livestock, later used as police and military dogs, Rottis are a very popular family dog. Intelligent and active these dogs really need experienced care and training. They are a sensitive breed and do not like to be left alone. He can be aloof towards strangers but is calm and confident making a natural guard dog and family protector hence training is essential. Rottis must be well socialised and trained from early puppyhood.

ASSETS: Confident, easy going, friendly and playful! Bonnie has thrived in foster care and is loving life!
FAVOURITE THINGS: Bonnie is a typical puppy with bursts of energy where she loves to rough and tumble with Clyde and the other dogs in her foster home. She loves any type of game, especially ones where she has to think a bit, and will play for a while then settle down for a snooze before waking up and doing it all over again!
ENDEARING FEATURES: Bonnie is very smart and learns things easily. She's fairly confident in new situations, very cute and can be sassy at times as she already knows her own mind!
OTHER ANIMALS: Being a young dog she will get on well with other friendly canines after gentle, supervised introductions and would go well in a home with either another youngish dog to play with, or a home where she gets to meet other dogs regularly. She could live with a dog-savvy, confident cat, again after gentle introduction.
GENERAL INFO: Bonnie isn't quite housetrained yet so will definitely need help in this area. Expect accidents while she's settling into her new home and routine! She'll benefit greatly from puppy school and ongoing classes into adulthood where she can mix with other dogs, and this is a commitment we will expect from her new owner. She's a smart girl and already knows a few commands but will need lead training. She isn't a fan of being left alone and will scratch at the door.
ESSENTIALS for Bonnie:
