About Shae
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Family home more than not if living as a solo dog.
- Children over 10 years old
Will you be the lucky person/people to be Shae’s lifelong humans?? If so, congratulations, she is the most beautiful girl. Shae slotted into pet life very easily, she is a great companion, generally a chilled girl, who is happy to hang out and get pats when available. Shea walks well on the lead and travels well in the car although she does need some assistance getting in.
Currently Shae enjoys two walks a day, Shae is happy to walk at a good pace but is also happy to meander enjoying time out and about to smell the roses or check on the day’s wee mail. Shae gets along well with Greyhounds enjoying going for a walk in a group of Greys but does have mixed feelings about other dogs she meets, some she is ok with, others she can be quite scared of and she doesn’t like to be barked at.
Unlike most Greyhounds we have met, Shae is not one for doing big zooms, she does small short, contained zooms, which are quite funny, but she does love to be able to wander around on the grass and sniff, so ideally a small grassy area is enough for Shae.
Shae likes to snooze during the day and is no trouble at night, easily sleeping through until you get up. Shae has not been encouraged to climb on beds or couches, but she would love to, if allowed. She is a clever girl, who is good at learning boundaries and mostly manages to stay out of the kitchen and bathroom, and usually doesn’t rush through the door first.
On first meeting Shae can be a little shy, but that doesn’t last long. Shae is great to have around the home and is a wonderful companion. She is happy to hang out whatever you may be doing. Shae is ok to leave at home for short periods of time, but does like to have someone around more often than not, so would make a wonderful, chilled companion to one person, a retired couple or a family (with older children), that are home more often than they are out.
Shae can become frightened by squealing or high-pitched noises, for this reason we think she is not really suited to a family with young children.
[Note: Under Victorian Law greyhounds must be on-leash at all times in public areas, including in off-leash parks or ovals]
