Iron is a beautiful boy that looks just like a blue heeler. He may look tough, but he’s really a softy. He values human company and will be a good indoor/outdoor pet for a family or a couple.

He currently shares a home with two adult humans and two children (2 & 5). He’s ok with kids, but outside he jumps and barks when he’s excited, and engages in herding behaviours (pushing, nipping at legs). This may be a bit intense for small kids; it is typical for the breed, and early training will be important to teach him boundaries.

Iron has been in care with four littermates, and exhibits typical pack behaviour, including rough play and dominance. He seems less resilient than his siblings, and will probably need an owner who is both patient and affectionate. Sharing with another dog might be a good option, provided there will be minimal conflict between them.

He is a good and enthusiastic walker, and will likely need regular exercise when he reaches full size. He seems pretty well house-trained, but he may start whining if he’s indoors too long without attention.

Overall, Iron is an adorable pup, who will be best suited to a loving and harmonious home.
