About Dolly
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
**Before applying, please remember that adopting a puppy into your home is a huge commitment, and very demanding of your time. Puppies require daily exercise, positive and varied socialisation, grooming, training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Puppies will need someone who is home for most of the day with regular focused input, especially in those first six months after adoption **
NAME: Dolly
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Mum Sally and pups came to SAFE Esperance after she gave birth in the pound.
BREED: American Bulldog X
Breed traits: latterly bred for farm work this agile and muscular dog is high energy requiring space to run - they are intelligent and affectionate with family which makes them great protective family dogs. They love to be with their people and do not generally like to be left alone. Socialisation and training needs to be started early, they'll then get along with children and other pets. They can be suspicious of strangers which makes them good watchdogs.
********************************************************************************
ASSETS: A little shy initially but once she's comfortable she's affectionate, smart, friendly, relaxed, playful and extremely cute! She loves to be around people and loves cuddles!
FAVOURITE THINGS: Dolly is a typical puppy with bursts of energy where she loves to rough and tumble with her siblings and play with teddies, squeaky toys, balls and rope toys. She will play for a while then settle down with her siblings for a snooze before waking up and doing it all over again! Dolly and her siblings also love to bite toes, shoes and anything dangly that they can get hold of!
ENDEARING FEATURES: She has the most expressive face!
OTHER ANIMALS: Being a young puppy she will get on well with other friendly dogs after gentle, supervised introductions and would go well in a home with either another youngish dog to play with, or a home where she gets to meet other dogs regularly. She could live with a dog-savvy, confident cat, again after gentle introduction.
GENERAL INFO: Dolly will need training for pretty much everything as she's so young at present. She isn't fully housetrained, but is almost there, so will need some help in this area too. Expect accidents while she's settling into her new home and routine! She's learning a few commands in her foster home and will benefit greatly from puppy school and ongoing classes into adulthood where she can mix with other dogs. This is a commitment we will expect from her new owner.
